The OK Music Trust’s Summer Concerts: and here's to many more!
OKMT's concerts are a wonderful way to show off and to celebrate the achievements of the children and young people with disabilities who are learning to play and perform music with their aid. So many students were ready to perform that 2 concerts were held in one day this summer.
The performers showed such joy and confidence as they played or sang in front of an audience of proud family members, friends, funders and VIPs.
For the first time the OK Music Collective for young adults, only launched in April this year, performed in public to a great reception.
OKMT’s representatives had this to say about them:
“How fabulous were our 2 summer concerts!
Held once again at St Paul's School in Barnes, our first concert opened with a bang - some great drumming performances from 3 students.
Followed by a beautiful performance from the Ukulele Group and some lovely solo performances on piano
and singing from Music School students, finishing up with 3 numbers from the Music School Band, getting the audience clapping along. Pure joy as always.
Our second concert featured more piano solos, a lovely performance from the OK Youth Choir and ended with our new OK Music Collective for young adults, with some great Rhythm and Blues to send us all home very happy!”
At FINHUMF we believe that all children deserve to learn, grow, and thrive; to excel at something they've come to love, to make friends, and to have caring mentors and teachers help them find their way.
We also know that childhood isn't the only phase of life that we all may need that helping hand. The work that the Otakar Kraus Music Trust does is truly inspiring.
